Chocolate Habanero is a vigorous, productive variety that develops broad, lantern-shaped pods that mature from green to a deep chocolate brown. The peppers have a rich, aromatic flavour with fruity, earthy and slightly smoky notes that set them apart from brighter-coloured habaneros. Mature pods have a smooth to lightly wrinkled surface and carry a strong, lingering heat that is noticeably more intense than many standard habanero types.
